OCTOBER 7, 2007

Lack of widespread publicity, a weak Pledge Drive effort, and a previously (unknown) scheduled, simultaneous Morehead, KY charity event (a once-yearly Heart Walk) resulted in a regrettably small turnout on yet a beautiful October Saturday morning. Those participants involved did complete the 1.7 mile course in approximately forty-minutes, and shared in their sentiments to assist our good friend David "Crash" Mullins. The Foundation wishes to issue a special thanks to Mr. Shane Ison. Shane is current enrolled as a first-year student at Morehead State University, and made a special fundraising effort throughout his congregation at the Sharkey Freewill Baptist Church. Thank you again Shane, and special appreciation for the ongoing and consistent support of all the church members. This event raised $135.

It is the Foundation's position that, "every little bit helps."

MOREHEAD, Kentucky. August 21, 2007: The David "Crash" Mullins Multiple Myeloma Foundation is pleased to announce another local fundraising event to take place in Morehead.

Beginning in the NAPA Auto Parts parking lot at the end of Main Street (near the Morehead State University Athletic Center), supporters will begin their 1.7 mile Walk-For-Crash at 10:00 AM.

THE WALKING ROUTE: Beginning in the NAPA parking lot at 707 East Main Street, walkers will proceed down Main Street, turn left on Bridge Street, right on First Street past the Morehead Public Library, right on South Wilson, and finally right back onto Main Street back down to the NAPA Auto Parts starting point. THERE WILL BE AN AMPLE SUPPLY OF ADULT FOUNDATION VOLUNTEERS TO SUPERVISE ALL ASPECTS OF THIS BENEFIT WALK.

Refreshment/water stations will be located at the start/finish point, and at two additional locations along the detailed route, along with the Morehead EMS Ambulance crew to insure everyone's health and safety. Walkers are encouraged to bring sports-style drinking/water bottles if they have one. An ample supply of water will be available to all. Plastic cups of drinking water will be available at all three water stations along the route.

Participants are encouraged to download your PLEDGE FORM HERE. The card identifies you as a Walk-For-Crash participant, and allows you to begin soliciting pledges/donations from your friends, family, and fellow workers. Inform them that you will be walking 1.7 miles to show your support for the David "Crash" Mullins Multiple Myeloma Foundation ... and that you would like them to make a donation to be used to assist Crash Mullins in paying for an estimated $450,000 in medical costs to treat his recently diagnosed Multiple Myeloma Cancer.

*Administrative Director Sue Stripp can answer all of your questions and concerns, and can be contacted through the Foundation directly at 606-207-2683.

On behalf of the Foundation, and the family and friends of Crash, we thank you ... and look forward to seeing you on October 6 at the walk!
