A Message From The Foundation Chairman   7/07

How could anyone move to Morehead, Kentucky to fish for Musky on Cave Run Lake and not know of David "Crash" Mullins?

It was my good fortune to become acquainted with Crash, Gina, and Justin Mullins after moving from New Jersey to Morehead in April 2006. When my friend Crash was diagnosed with multiple myeloma cancer in June 2007, I knew that a consistent, organized, and comprehensive effort would be required in order to assist him.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with twenty years field experience (twelve spent as a private practitioner), and being a transplant from the mainstream business worlds of both the Chicago and New York City metropolitan areas, I believed that I could make a substantial contribution. After all ... social workers do good things for people ... and Crash Mullins is good people.

As Chairman of the David "Crash" Mullins Multiple Myeloma Foundation, I am able to work effectively with some very committed individuals and other organizations who as well value their relationships with Crash and his family, and truly recognize the peril and delicate balance within which his life now hangs. Yet the notion that cancer is an "immediate death sentence" has long been upstaged by some remarkable treatment advances that are being applied to an array of different cancers across-the-board. The dedication of the scientists and physicians who have committed themselves to developing consistently more effective cancer treatment protocols cannot be overstated.

This blog has been created to provide an ongoing and subjective voice to better communicate this Foundation's purpose, goals, and relative successes in all of it's stated affairs. Please visit this page again for timely reports and important updates concerning Crash's progress-in-treatment and the management of his illness, along with various other relevant aspects of multiple myeloma in general. In time, it is the Foundation's intended mission to assist others who have as well been diagnosed with this disease.

Thank you for visiting this web site. We encourage you to take the time to review the information that has been provided here, and strongly urge you to make a generous contribution to the Foundation today.
