Crash Mullins knows the importance of strong family values. He is a deeply spiritual man who possesses great faith. His courage and resolute attitude toward his recent cancer diagnosis, and the ensuing commitment to months of complex cancer treatment, have no doubt been directly influenced by unpredictable events in his past.

In 1991, Crash lost his wife Kathleen to colon cancer. At the time, Kathleen was a mere 38 years young. Kathleen had a daughter whom Crash adopted (Michelle was four years old), and the couple did have one child together. Today Crash has an excellent relationship with both adult children, and Crash and son Justin experience the strongest of father-and-son bonds.

Justin Mullins has also chosen to be a Musky professional (having been taught by one of the best), and many within the Musky world know that Justin is "one serious stick" in his own right.
