The elusive Musky is at the very top of
the freshwater food-chain. The sport of Musky fishing has become
increasingly popular in recent years, based in part on the personal
contributions of Crash Mullins. Crash has been a professional Musky guide
for close to 30 years. He was influential in further legitimizing the
Muskies, Inc. national Musky
fishing organization, and was instrumental in effecting the formation of
the first of two local Kentucky chapters. He has competed in professional
Musky tournaments nationwide, and assisted in the founding of the
Professional Musky Tournament Trail
(PMTT), thus bringing substantially larger cash payouts than had
previously been seen in the Musky tournament fishing world. Crash has
guided for Musky on a professional basis on
Cave Run Lake, in Morehead,
Kentucky, since 1981. His
Crash's Landing Outfitters & Musky Guide Post has long served as a
Musky fisherman's southern Promised Land. A place where both
northern and eastern counterparts could escape the harsh winter, and thus
take advantage of Kentucky's moderate climate and year-round Musky
fishing.
For many years Crash Mullins has
assisted in the design and development of all things Musky: boat
manufacturers (most notably Ranger
Boats of Flippin, Arkansas), rod and reel manufacturers, and artificial
bait producers nationwide have sought his consultation in meeting the
needs of an ever-increasing population of Musky-dedicated fishermen.
